Fitz- j patrick followed suit, but Duncan mis- sed the third strike and then, recov- oring the ball, threw wild to Cole, leaving "Tommy" safe at first. The two attempted a double-steal, Vandiver being put out and McConnell reaching second base. - Williams grounded to Jacobs. The sixth Inning netted the Salt Lake team two runs and the Ogden club, three. Jacobs singled, went to second on Ramshaw's error and scored scor-ed on Sullivan's single." Sullivan stole second, Sorenson struck out, Dern was hit with the ball by Greenwell and- Sullivan scored on a choice. On the last play, Dern was out at second. Vandiver threw wild to Cole and Leonard, who had started the mixup by hitting the ball, reached second base. Ambrose went out, Vandiver to Cole. In the second half, Wessler got his first hit, a single; Ramshaw was I given a life and Fuller scored both, with a two-bagger. Cole struck out and Duncan was thrown out at first. Greenwell sent a high one into center-I center-I field, which Kilpatrick got both hands on and then dropped. Fuller scored and Greenwell reached first base oil the error. A'andlver went out at first, ending e inning. Ramshaw Ram-shaw and Fuller thon staged a double steal, the former getting to third base and then home on the jugglery, while Fuller managed to stay alive at first base. Cole singled, sending the speedy Fuller to third. In the meantime, mean-time, Shupe had fanned and Duncan flied to Leonard. The eighth inning was brief. Greenwell Green-well struck out Sorenson and Leonard and Dern went out, Ramshaw to Cole. In the second half, Greenwell singled and was advanced to third by Vandiver Vandiv-er and McConnell, both of whom passed pass-ed out nt first. Shupe struck out. Two runs behind and desperate to tie the score, Captain Fitzpatrick of the visiting team, sent Gllberg in at the opening of the ninth Inning to bat for Ambrose.
