Show HARDEN BENNION IS BACK FROM THE EAST ' Salt Lake, Sept. 5. Harden Ben- nion, Democratic nominee for socrc- ( tary of state and at present a member ' of the slate board of equalization, re- turned yesterday from Indianapolis, i where he attended the annual confer- ' ence of the National Tax association. "I really had little opportunity to t discuss politics on the trip," Mr. Ben- nion said yesterday. "There wore so j many things of interest under discus- i slon at tho meetings of the conference that I found little time for anything 1 else. Wo had a great meeting the ( most successful in the history of the organization. i "I was precipitated Into the cam- i paign almost without my knowledgo," Mr. Bennlon pleaded when asked ' about his plans, "and have been away 1 so much since the convention that I . am not in close touch with the state campaign. We are working today on the speaking itineraries and within the next week or two I expect to make a trip through the eastern part of the state in the interests of tho party." William Bailey, chairman oT the state board of equalization; Mark Tut-tle Tut-tle of the state auditor's office, and C. M. Brown, tax representative of the Utah Power & Light company, also attended at-tended the conference. |
