MANY VILLAGES ARE CAPTURED French Have Taken 29 Places Since Beginning of Somme Offensive. Paris, Sept. 5 (5:50 p. m.) The capture cap-ture of Soyecourt and Chilly, by the French yesterday, makes a total of twenty-nine villages taken since tho start of the offensive on the Somme front. Tho positions wrested from the Germans yesterday wero powerfully power-fully organized. At Barleux, ono of the strongest positions po-sitions on this front, repeated direct attacks were unsuccessful and the French finally resorted to a turning movement, attacking toithe southwest. The Germans counter-attacked no less than six times yesterday in a desperate desper-ate effort to regain lost ground. nn
