The new equipment (6 to be used for replacements re-placements and will not be additions to the present equipment. In a statement tonight the com pa -ny says that Its policy of adding on'y j ste ) cars to Us passenger equipment is being followed with reference to its freight equipment, and that ultimately ulti-mately every train on the system, freight or passenger, will be of all-steel all-steel construction. The invitation for bids, the statement state-ment says, marks the first equipment buying of any magnitude by the company com-pany for more than a year |
