Show BOX ELDER COUNTY NEWS Brigham City, April 23 The. Baron woolen mills of this city will SOon begin operations, according to Thomas Baron, the owner who has about com pleted the transfer of his machinerv from Hyrum Mr. Baron purchased the old factory building, only the walls of which were intact, the bal auee of the biuding having been lost by fire in 1907 The building has been completely rebuilt and the installation in-stallation of machinery has been in progress for several days. The plaut will soon be tn operation ln the man ufatture of all kinds of woolen knit goods The annual conference of the Prj mary association in the Box Elder stake will be held ln the tabernacle ln this city next Saturday and Sun day. Several hundred children from this city and other parts of the count will be here to attend the confei ence. The Rev. Adam G Frank will leav i "-" Monday for the east, where he wtli remain for six weeks in the interest of the Presbyterian church Mr. Frank will be accompanied by Mrs. Frank and children and the will make an extended stay in Ohio. Mr. Frank's former home was in Mason. Ohio. Mr. Frank will attend the general gen-eral assembly in Rochester. N Y . which meets soon During the reverend's rev-erend's absence the local pulpit will be occupied by Utah pastors. Brigbam has been invaded by the jitney bus. One lone car began operation op-eration last Sunday, but it was con-sndered con-sndered only temporary. Yesterday morning two more joined the service. The first jitney was operated by George Had ley, and yesterday the Hadley uto Service company, which has operated an auto livery here since the first part of the year, entered two cars in competition with George Hadley. Had-ley. The artists of Brigham City will meet tonight for the purpose of effecting ef-fecting an organization. The recent -exhibit given in the Commercial dnh by a number of local artists was so successful that the exhibitors decided decid-ed to form a society to perpetuate the exhibit and to work for the advancement advance-ment of art in the home and community com-munity The fact that the county clerk's office of-fice of Box Elder county is practically practical-ly self-supporting is gained from a recent report given out by Clerk R M. Jeppson. This shows the receipts of the office for the first three months of 1915 as follows: Januarv. $228.30; February S224, March $230.60. The monthly salaries for the tour regular reg-ular employees in the office total $248. The average cost to the county for the maintenance of the clerical force for the three months is $20.37 per month. |
