Show BOYS HELD FOR AUTO STEALING Sheriff T. A. DeVine yesterday afternoon aft-ernoon arrested Herman Van Leeu-wen Leeu-wen Joseph Moyes, Harold Nicholas, Ted Bateman and Clarence Dew on the charge of grand larceny. Th3 lads are accused of stealing R B Gwilllam'fl automobile at the River-dale River-dale church. Thursday night They were taken before the Juvenile court this morning When arraigned In the Juvenile court It was learned that all of the boys, except Bateman aud Dew, were under IS and they were required to enter into an agreement with the court that they would appear Thurs day morning for trial. Bateman and Dew were remanded to the custody of the sheriff and their examination will be taken up in the municipal court. The Juveniles will be charged with the same offense as the two other boys but if found guilt sentence will be only to serve time in the State Industrial school. The officers say that the boys took the Gwilliam machine out for a Jo -ride, having with them some of the country' girls. The machine was left at Clinton. Nicholas was first arrested and he confessed the entire transaction, lm-1 pllcatlng the other boys. Dew saye that he was not with the party and did not know the boys had stolen the machine. He claims that he was requested to drive the Nicholas machine while they went out for a little joy ride with the other machine. He knew that the boys were out for a little time.
