Show W. H. BANCROFT IS DANGEROUS STROKE OF APOPLEXY Salt Lake. April 22 William 11. Bancroft, vice president of the Salt Lake Route and former president of the Utah Light fc Railway company and vice president and general manager man-ager of the Oregon Short Line. iR critically ill at his home on F.nat South Temple street as the result of a stroke of apoplexy yesterday morning morn-ing Every possible medical attention atten-tion under the direction of Mb old friend and associate. Dr. S. H. Pink erton, chie.f surgeon of the Oregon Short Line, is being given him, but on account of his advanced age his condition is considered more than usually serious Mr. Bancroft was stricken about 7 o'clock yesterday morning, while taking tak-ing bis morning hath, and has remain ed unconscious since A few minutes before the attack, Mr. Bancroft was apparently in Rood health. On account of his advanced age and 111 health, Mr Bancroft retired from the position of vice president and general gen-eral manager of tbe Oregon Short Line He is now in his seventy-fifth year Since retiring from active ser vice with the Short Line he has spent much of his time in southern California, Califor-nia, and returned from there, with his health greatly improved, about thrcp weeks ago |
