Show VALLEY CENTER TO BE I NEW TOWN IN OGDEN VALLEY P- L. Orth, secretary of the Huntsville Hunts-ville Commercial and Boosters' club, was In the city a short time this morning and he took occasion to say that the people of Ogden valley are pleased to note the advancement in construction work on the Huntsville extension of the interurban car line An effort is being made just now to designate the point where the interurban in-terurban line intersects with the Eden highway as 'Valley Center, " as it will be the commercial center of the valley. val-ley. The point is about as far distant dis-tant from Huntsville as frm Eden and the distance to Liberty is about the same as to Middleton, east of Hunts vllle It is an Important central point, too, as there are located there two creameries, a pea viner and a wholesale slaughter house It Is planned to be a loading place for sugar sug-ar beets from Eden and Liberty. "A little town will be built there some day." said Mr. Orth, "and it is the general opinion that the place should be christened 'Valley Center' at this time. The question will like ly be taken up in an official way in the near future, and in the meantime, mean-time, a sign board designating tho name may be established " Through the influence of President D. D. McKay of the Huntsville booster boost-er organization. Professor J H Paul, will spend Saturday and Sunday In the valley. On Saturday afternoon he will meet with the boy scouts at Huntsville, and on Sunday morning at 10 o clock he will address the people en the subject of birds The same subject will be given attention by the professor at a meeting at Liberty at 1 p. m. and at 8 o'clock in tho evening eve-ning he will again take up the bird question at a meeting at Eden. no |
