The explosion drove the breech-block of the rifle into his face, destroying the right cheek-hone and gouging out the right oye. Dr Buvin'ger. a noted Philadelphia specialist, is visiting at the Hancock ranch. He performed an operation, removing re-moving thirteen fragments of bone from the Injured cheek. Hancock then was brought to town, arriving nearly thirty-six hours after the accident. Local Lo-cal surgeons have arranged to replace the missing bone of his skull with a silver plate, and this and an artificial eye will prevent him from presenting an unsightly appearance.
