Show Fill il 1 VERDUN BA1TLE Two Hundred Yards of Trenches in the Meuse Hill Captured. London, May 15. Little heavy fighting is in progress In any of the various war theatres. The French in the Meuse hills to the east of Verdun, in a surprise attack, at-tack, havo cleared tho Germans, from trenches over a front of about 200 yards and also have put down in Champagne several German attacks. Bombardments alone are taking placo around Verdun. Along the British line in France bombardments and sapping operations are being carried on at various points. East of Loos the Germans succeeded in gaining a footing in British trenches trench-es but were able to hold them only a few minutes under a counterattack. The Italians in the Monto Adamello zone have succeeded in occupying ptw H sitions in the sector between Crozzoiv jH d( Fargorida and Crozzon di Lares, jH which are of great strategic value in H their movement against Trent.
