Show I ISALT LAKE BOM I ID Ml IP! I OGDEN f The Elite Athletic club will offer H the local sporting fraternity another H interesting boxing card, Friday night, H Recording to Matchmaker Eddie Dal-j H ' lias' weekly announcement. Through ' the change of nights, from Tuesday to H .Friday,., it is possible to use some of I the boxers who appear in the Mon i day night programs in Salt Lake City, giving them time to recuperate, and .for this reason the Ogden shows in the future should bo even superior 'than those given since the club moved mov-ed into its new quarters, For Friday night, Dallas has secured se-cured Jlmmie Johns of Ogden and I Harry Atwood of Los Angeles as the principals in the main event. Johns has thus far been virtually unbeat able at his weight and Atwood show- i ed his class in Salt Lake Monday night by winning a decision over Yan- ' kee Allen, giving the latter a 20- jpound margin of weight. He also has a string of victories over Pacific coast fighters to his credit. I "Mysterious" Jimmy Brown of Og den, who has been out of public ac- ) tion for Boveral weeks, will re-enter J the game in a bout with Harry Schus- i ter of Oakland. This will be the I . jsemi-windup event and should be an interesting contest. Brown is one of I the best mixers in this part of the I country, as he has demonstrated in past fights, and Schuster comes from the coast with a good record. Blackio Mailon, and Young McGeo, whose fight last week was the feature fea-ture of the show, will go the four-round four-round route again for the delectation of the fans. Bus Boyle and Bat Nelson, Nel-son, two of the promising local welterweights, wel-terweights, will oppose each other in the fourth bout anrf the curtain raiser rais-er will be furnished by Eddie Mack and George Wall. This lineup, on tho whole, looks unusually good.. |
