CATHOLIC CHURCH FIRE DOES DAMAGE OE OVERS1000 Part of the beautiful interior of SL Joseph's Catholic church was damaged dam-aged by fire last night, the blaze originating orig-inating from an incense burner which had been inadvertently placed in the sacrist-, while the charcoal was still smoldering. Tho fire was seen at about 6 o'clock by residents of a house near the church, and the fire department was soon on the scene. An entrance was forced by the fire fighters, through the front door of the church and the hose carried to the source of the fire, which was soon extinguished. The blaze, however, had spread to the vestry carpets and tapestries near the altar, melting silver candlesticks and the smoke, fire and water damaged dam-aged the frescoing to a considerable extent. A robe belonging to Father P. M. Cushnahan was also burned. Members of church estimate the damage at more than $1,000.'
