Show GIH WILL Sffi M IN SALARY The city board of commissioners this morning passed an ordinance providing pro-viding a salary of $2400 for city engineer, en-gineer, Tho ordinance was proposed by Commissioner Chris Flygare, superintendent sup-erintendent of streets and public Improvements, Im-provements, which embraces the engineering en-gineering department. Heretofore the city has had an engineer en-gineer and an assistant. A recent enactment en-actment made the total salary of the two $3000. The ordinance of this morning abolishes the office of assistant assist-ant engineer and increases the salary of engineer from $1800 to $2400, thus saving the city $600 a year It is expected ex-pected that the engineer will be appointed ap-pointed tomorrow Tho bond of city auditor A F Larson, Lar-son, In the sum of $20,000, waB approved ap-proved by the board and placed on file. J. W. Lund was awarded the contract con-tract for painting and papering portions por-tions of the city jail, he being the lowest low-est bidder in the sum of $65.45 Other bids ran as high as $115. The Improvement Im-provement will be mnde on four rooms of the city jail, the hallway, and the police court room. oo |
