Show BHM PIKER DIES SUDDENLY Brigham City, Nov. 1 Whilo waiting wait-ing on customers in his little confectioners confec-tioners store on Forest street, Elijah A. Box dropped over dead at 10 o'clock last night, heart failure being be-ing the Immediate cause of death. Mr Box was born in Nauvoo, 111., January Jan-uary 4, 1844, and, with his parents, emigrated to Utah in 1S52, locating for three years in tho vicnity of Salt Lake, where the family engaged in agriculture. In 1855 the family removed re-moved to Brigham City, and this had been the home tfi E. A. Boxsince. Mr. Box was perhaps one of tho most interesting characters in this part of the state, having been associated asso-ciated with others in various business enterprises and having also hold many important positions, both public and church. He was particularly active in business in the eighties and early nineties. He was Interested in political po-litical affairs up until tho very last day of his life About 1S75. before and after, Mr Box was regarded as the most prominent promi-nent man in Boxolder county and acquired ac-quired considerable wealth, which, however, he lost in later years. He was married to Roxy Snow, daughtc of President Lorenzo Snow. In 1877 he was appointed counselor to President 'O. G. Snow, the first regularly regu-larly appointed president of Boxolder stake. The funeral services will be held in the Second ward meeting house Wednesday Wed-nesday at 1 p. m. and interment will be in tho City cemetery oo |
