President H Wilson was Informed tonight of the H sinking of the Dominion liner Armo- H nlan by a German submarino and of H the fact that a number of Americans H were reported lost. It was said that H he would wait for full official infor- HJ mation before deciding what course H to pursue, but that a' thorough Inves- H tigatlon would be conducted. H The president displayed deep inter- H est, but refused to make any official H comment. Ho had been told that a H favorable reply from Germany to the H last American noto protesting against H tho submarine warfare was probable H and therefore tho word of the sinking Hl of the Armenian was received here Hl with surprise. H Thep resident adopted tho same at- H titudo he maintained after the sink- H ing of tho Lusltania and tho Nobras- H kan and tho attack on the Gulflight H and other ships carrying Americans H that of reserving judgment until H all available Information is obtained.
