Show P1MIHT MEN OF SOUTH PACIFIC VISIT OGDEN t The Southern Pacific shops and the yards of the Ogden Terminal were inspected in-spected yesterday by the ""party of engineers who recently gathered at Sparks, Nev., and from that point started on an inspection trip over the Southern Pacific system. The party was conducted by Superintendent T. F. Howlands of the Salt Lake division, and, in addition to the Ogden man, was codmposed of J. T. Barlow, assistant as-sistant chief engineer with headquarters headquar-ters at San Francisco; R. N Drake, assistant superintendent of the maintenance main-tenance of way department, with headquarters in San Francisco; Divl-nion Divl-nion Engineer W H. Kirkbridc of Sacramento, Division Engineer E. C. Monensen of San Francisco, Division Engineer D. A. Porter of Oakland, and Division Engineer C. A. Wester of Dunsmuir. The party came into Ogden over the old lino of the Southern Pacific around the north end of tho Great Salt Lake, attor having completed an Inspection of the Shasta, Portland, Sacramento, Stockton and Western divisions di-visions and the Salt Lake division, with tho exception of tho main line from Ogden to Montello. - While iu Ogden. tho engineers reported re-ported that theyhad found conditions on all of the divisions excellent, with regard to preparedness for the winter months, and before taking their departure de-parture stated that conditions in tho local shops and yards wore also very satisfactory. Accompanied by Superintendent Super-intendent Rowlands, the engineers departed de-parted for Sparks, Nov., on train No. 5, |
