Show ENORMOUS EXPORTS. (Salt Lake Tribune) The total exports of the United States for November show an increase in-crease of $63,000,000 over November of last year, with comparatively little cojiper and cotton being sent abroad. Had the trade In these two commodities commodi-ties been unrestricted Secretary Red-field Red-field estimates that tho November increase in-crease in exports would be In the neighborhood of $140,000,000. Both copper and cotton must go forward sooner or later and when that happy time arrives the business boom will begin In real earnest It is said that the organization of federal reserve banks has eliminated the world 'panic" from the dictionary, that money enough for all business requirements may now be obtained, no matter what happens In the shape of war, pestilence or famine. This being the case, the troubles of the people of this country in this respect are over forever and a few weeks hence tho stringency of the last year or two will have been forgotten. The chief drawback just now is the fact that the stock exchanges are not transacting business in the usual way, men who are loaded with securities securi-ties on margin being compelled to bang on until the market Is revived Some of these men will accept their loRs-:es while others, with more capita! capi-ta! at their command, will profit ultimately. ul-timately. The war came like a thunderbolt thun-derbolt out of a clear sky and the speculators were caught in a trap from which they could not extricate themselves. The first of the year Will probably see the end of this dlf liculty. in the meantime commercial expansion is very much In evidence. oo |
