Miss Ruth Merriweather. As a result of the verdict by the coroner's coro-ner's jury. Dr. F. Y Noble is In jail on a murder charge and a Denver detective de-tective Is on his way to Chicago to get Dr Robert J Mason, fiance of the dead girl, who is accused jointh w ith Noble. Mien Dorothy Merriweather tonight. Is reported to be in a serious condi tion and her mother is near death as the result of shock. Testimony was introduced to show that Dr Mason was responsible for the girl's condition, that he engaged Dr. Noble and agreed to pay his fee Dr Noble did not testify at tho inquest. in-quest. He declares he went into thn case solely In an attempt to save the girl's life. Chicago, Dec. 7. Dr Robert J Mason, Ma-son, an osteopath, was arrested In a fraternity house here today at the j request of the Denver police charged with murder. Mason told the police he would return without requisition papers. "I read in the papers I was wanted in connection with the death of Ruth Merriweather' said Dr. Mason. "I know nothing of her death." Dr. Mason said he had practiced medicine in Denver since his graduation gradua-tion from a Des Moines, Iowa, medical college two years ago. |
