Show SCOTCH ENJOY DAY IT THE LiCOON RESORT It was estimated that over 400P Scottish residents of Utah participated participat-ed in the annual celebration of the anniversary of the "Battle of Ban-DOCkburn," Ban-DOCkburn," at Lagoon yesterday. Of these over 1500 were from Ogden The Battle of Bannockburn was the event bj which the Highland Scotch were freed for a few years from the rule of England and for this reason the anniversary an-niversary is celebrated each year. The celebration yesterda.v was a memorable one in eery respect, the major portion of the morning being given over to games and field contests con-tests for the young people and the afternoon and evening program being mainiv lor adults The sports of the! afternoon were a part of what Is known among the Scots, as a "high land gathering" and proved very Interesting In-teresting to both contestants and j spectators. One of the features of the evening was the dancing The Scottish bag-pine bag-pine band, which had participated in .several of the other events of the day, alternated with the regular band of the resort n playing the music for the dancers. Old fashioned schot-tisches schot-tisches and reels were danced to the music of the bagpipe band, old ancr young alike participating In the quick movements of the Highland dances.
