The directors have been making up the deficit of these meetings by writing writ-ing their personal checks and they have reached the limit of self-sacri fice in their efforts to bring to the men, women and children of Ogden the best talent to be obtained In the United States. There has been widespread publicity pub-licity given the lectures and other entertainments en-tertainments at Glenwood Park dur ing the week and no one can plead Ignorance as an excuse for failing to be present Our opinion is that Miss Gertrude McCheyne, in her talks on domestic science, is an attraction for women alone worth the price of the Chautauqua Chau-tauqua tickets. The music by The Metropolitan Musical club and the Chicago Glee club is In itself a treat Then there Is John C. Kennedy, a brilliant talker on subjects of Interest Inter-est to every citizen, also MUs Maude Willis and Miss Maude May Babcock. talented readers, and Mi s Maude Stevens, who la directing the children's chil-dren's play. Tomorrow Charles H. Plattehburg will be heard and then will come Prof. P. R Dnumsrardt, one of the brightest moat pleasing speakers speak-ers on the lecture platform today We advise all our readers to make an extra effort, if necessary, to hear Prof. Raumgardt when he lectures on the stars Sunday evening We would rejoice, if the good people peo-ple were to rally to the support of the ChautatlQUI during the remaining days of this peaslon, We wnnt flip parents of Ogden to attend in order to give encouragement encourage-ment to a high class of entertain ment which should continue each year as a magnet to draw the children chil-dren into a most wholesome, refining atmosphere, in |
