The grand jury weighing the evidence against Mrs Florence Carman locked up on the charge of slaying Mrs. Louise Bailey, Bai-ley, who was sho' down in Dr. Carman's Car-man's office on the night of June 30 last, was expected to vote for or against an Indictment late this afternoon. af-ternoon. District Attorney Smith, in announcing so today, said that t he I verdict probably would not be made J public until tomorrow. But three, witnesses, Mr Smith continued, were J to face the grand jury today with the p066ible exception of Mrs. Carman Car-man herself Whether the Jurors would receive her and permit her to make a statement state-ment was a point which had not been determined thiB forenoon. After the grand jury had examined three witnesses Dr. Runcl. Mrs. Corby Cor-by and Phlneas Seaman, a detective District Attorney Smith recalled Frank J. Farrell, who claims that he was at the back door of the Carman home when the shot was fired and saw a woman dart around the house and Into the door near which he was standing. |
