Following tfS conference, Mr. Bamberger announced that th Bamberger railroad' chief engineer had been instructed to begin at once on plans for the car barns Actual work will be commenced as s'"on as the weather permits. The two railroad companies have approximate!'.- a half block on the ; west side of First West street be-j tween Third South and Fourth South streets. As decided yesterday the car barns will have a frontage on j First West street of 90 feet and will extend ba-k 320 feet. The structure Is te bo of brick and steel and will contain soon feet of trackage with 1 space to accommodate sixty cars. The barns will har a clearance of IS feet ! Solves Big Proglem. The barns will solve the car storage stor-age problem for both the new Orem road and the Bamberger The latter company has for many years stored a few of Its car In the small barns I a! Ogden, somp In the shop- at St! lo eph and mo6t of them on sldtngl along the road, where the weather beating thev received forced the com puny to make a yearly general over hauling All the extra cars of both roads jli be ptored In the new barns, when completed and the Bamberger I road will use Its St Joseph shops only for repairing purposes and its Ogden Og-den barns only for slight overhauling In connection with the decision to construct Joint bams in Salt Lake Mr Bamberger announced his intention to at once spend $20 000 in enlarerinc1 the car barns at Ogden. The rapacity ra-pacity there will be Increased to fifteen fif-teen cars so that no delay take plae when it Is wished to repaint, make slight repairs or do other over-I over-I hauling work on a larce number of I cars at the same time. Will Rush Construction When completed, the proposed Salt Lake Joint barns will employ regularly regular-ly about twenty-five workmen. As soon as It Is decided to begin work on the structure, the largest possible force of men will be put to work and construction will be rushed In order to have the barns completed, If pos sible, to handle part of the summer's extra business. Both roads have franchises for 'he rights of wa necessan to meet at the joint borns. From the present passenger station of the Bamberger on Third WeM between North Temple Tem-ple and South Temple streets, the tracks will be extended east through the center of the block on what Is known a? .Tennlngs avenue, to Second West street and the eas- through the center ef the block between North Temple and West Temple streets to First West.
