Show CHAPLAIN CORPS TO BE INCREASED; Washington. Dec. 24. An Increase of the corps of chaplains In the navy to not IC6S than one for every thous nnd men Is provided In a bill Introduced Intro-duced in the house by Representative Pair of Pennsylvania. Mr Parr in speaking of his meas nre said that while the navy has Increased In-creased six fold since 1841 the corps of chaplains has not been increased. The bill would give the rank of captain to ten per cent of ihe chaplains chap-lains authorized by law. commander '.o twenty per cent of them, lieutenant lieuten-ant commander to thirty per cent and the remainder would be lieutenants. All would have the rank, uniform, pay and allowance of other seagoing officers of the same rank. |
