Show FOUR CANDIDATES FOR JMGRESS Parties Open Campaign in New Jersey Must Fill Seat of Late Robert G. Bremner. Patterson, N. J., March 25. The nomination of four candidates for the seat in congress left vacant by the death of Representative Robert G. Breniner, Democrat of the Seventh Now Jersey district, opens here the first political campaign Involving national na-tional Issues that has been waged since the enactment of the new tariff bill. The Republicans at the primaries yesterday divided nearly 9000 votos among eleven candidates, and chose Pw H- Drukker by a plurality of 1203 over tho nearest candidate. The Democrats selected James O'Bryne, secretary to United States Senator Houghes, by 488 plurality. The total to-tal Democratic vote was 4500 divided among five candidates. The Progressives polled 40 votes and the Socialists 700, but each of these partieB put up only one candidate. candi-date. , |
