The photography pho-tography is excellent. The difference between the drama and the motion picture, so far as the actor is concerned, is indicated by the ca John Bunny, the Vitagraph motion picture pic-ture tar comedian. Less than five yeat ago he appeared at the Vitagraph Theater The-ater on Broadway, rk. which was then called the Criterion. He supported sup-ported a mediocre star, dressed in the basement dressing room with two otl 1 and received forty-five dollars par week. When Bunny returned to the Vitag Theater a few weeks ago he was the star, famous throughout the entire civilized civ-ilized world as the screen's funniest man. salary one, thousand dolhr, per week and, of course, was given the star dressing room all for himself. His old star of a few years ago is still barn-Storming barn-Storming to poor business and contin ually talking about the "grand old drama" Bunny advises him to "forget it" and recall that motion pictures are the greatest form of modern entertainment, entertain-ment, while many a poor old I Stormcr has lost even ih.it vocation since the dedine of the drama. Lasky Feature Play Company to appear in the role of "Monty" Brewster in the moving picture production of "Brewster's "Brew-ster's Millions," lie was particularly enamored with the idea of seeing himself him-self as others have seen him. "I have always been anxious to sit out in front and watch myself work " he said, and forthwith left New York for the Lasky studios at Los Angeles. Cal. It SO happened that Dustm Farnum. who had played the leading role in the )J moving picture production of "The Squftw Mail' was m the l-'.ast and he and AbelcS met on the Sunset Limited I en route for the Coast. "It's great'" said Farnum. "The v.ork in the open, the jump into the Ocean, falling into mountain crevices. riding it breakneck speed across the plains and sliding down the cliff sides. (make a new man of you." Dust in Farnum is a great big giant of a man and has lived an outdoor life. He is hardened and has spent many ears ..n the Western plains am! the work appealed to him. But with Abeles it is a different story. .Mr Abeles is a clubman, raconteur and society favorite, and most of his years in the Fast hae been spent in clubs and drawing rooms, ami during the thirty-six hours on the Sunset Limited he began thinking over the p. nihilities of a wild ride on an unbroken mustang; sliding down into Colorado Springs from Pike's Peak and being rescued from a watery grave bv a submarine boat, and all the fascination for screen acting oozed right out and. 1eaing the train at Salt Lake City, he wired Mr. Iisky thusl) : "Is it too late to withdraw from my contract? Wire me." , Mr. La Icy failing to understand Abeles' change of heart, wired him for the reason, and after learning the why of the which, burned up the wire between be-tween New York and Los Angeles, explaining ex-plaining to Ahele that " Brewster's Million Mil-lion -" was a different sort of a picture from "The Sur.aw Man." with the result that Abelei si ived right on. and "Brewster's "Brew-ster's Millions" is now a real moving picture drama with Abeles in the original orig-inal role.
