Show TEACHERS CAN GO TO MUNICH. GERMANY Under arrangements made by P. P. Claxton, Linked States commissioner of education, with the council of the city of Munich, Oermany, Salt Lake school teachers will be given oppoi-tunity oppoi-tunity for studying manual training and industrial subjects in tho far-famed far-famed continuation schools of that city. Superintendent D II Christensen received a letter to that effect yesterday yester-day from Commissioner Clazton and immediately had copies of It sent to the principals of all the schools, calling call-ing attention to the splendid advantages advant-ages the opportunity affords. Superintendent Super-intendent Christensen announces that any local teachers, provided the num ber does not exceed twenty-five, may take advantage of the offer and will bo given n leave of absence to do so. Following Is the letter from Commissioner Commis-sioner Claxton "At my request the municipal council coun-cil of the city of Munich, Germany, baa agreed to permit a limited number num-ber of American teachers of manual ' training and Industrial subjects to j study In the continuation schools of that city, there underlying principles, and their relation to the life of the city. The fees will be at the rate of 50 cents a week, or about $fi.50 for the entire period. The cost of transportation trans-portation and living will not be excessive. ex-cessive. The number of students to which this opportunity Is extended is limited to twenty-five. This is an unusual opportunity for American students to learn at first hand of the Industrial and contlnua tion schools of Munich, under the direction di-rection of Director George Kerschen-stelner Kerschen-stelner and Assistant Inspector Dr. Dr. Schmled. and I sincerely hope that American teachers in all parts of the country will take advantage of it "Mr. Summers is arranging with the steamship companies for transportation. trans-portation.
