Show SUPERIOR BANK CLOSES ITS DOORS Superior, Neh., Jan. 9 The First National bank of Superior did not open for business this morning, the doors being closed at the orders of the comptroller of currency, according accord-ing to an announcement of President C. E. Adams. The cause of the closing clos-ing of the institution is not definitely known, a hastily called meeting of the directors this morning taking up the matter The bank was believed to be In excellent ex-cellent financial condition and, according accord-ing to the last statement, had a capital cap-ital stuck of $60 000 with surplus and profits bringing this up to $72,000. Loans were reported as $300,000 and deposits of $315,000. Doing business in the same rooms as the First National is the First State Savings hank of Suprlor, in which some of the men interested In the National Na-tional bank are also stockholders. Although Al-though n- statement has been made by the bank examiner here, tt Is be- lieved that heavy investments In a big corporation recently organized here may have some connexion with the closing |
