Show CHARGE OF PIATING CARDS FOR MONET FALLS FLAT Smiles were much In evidence In police court this morning when the case ot J. Kuhn, charged with playing play-ing a game with cards for money was called. On the recommendation of Sergeant H C. Poterson, the acting city attorney moved for a dismissal on the grounds that the witnesses were out of the state. The acting attorney was William Harcombo: who has defended Kuhn during the past few months. Even Harcombe was embarrassed when he made the motion and he took pains to state that It was the arresting officer who recommended the dismissal of the charge. Judge Reeder granted the motion. Kuhn was arrested early yesterday yester-day morning with three others who forfeited their bail. H W Percell was unable to recognize rec-ognize a police officer yesterday although al-though the policeman had on his full regalia Including a uniform and a star As a result of his poor perception, per-ception, he is to spend 15 days In Jail unless he has tho same number of dollars to pay th city as a fine. Percell was charged with interfering with an officer in the performance of his dutle. Guard Thomas Lever was the officer. Ho had responded to tho Bamberger depot corner in response re-sponse to a call and there, placed Bud Read under arrest. It is alleged that Read and Alex Landflsh were fighting. fight-ing. Percell tried to take the prisoner from him by force and would prob- ably have succeeded had not Deputy Sheriff Lou Hobson Interfered Percell pleaded not guilty to the charge this morning.
