N Y Nov. 5 It being generally conceded around the capital capi-tal today that, the Republicans would haA e a safe majority in the state assembly, speculation turned to the probable nominees for speaker Harold J HInmau of Albany, minority min-ority leader In the present assembly was generally regarded as the choice of State Chairman William Barnes for the speakership. Hinman was reflected re-flected yesterday by the largest plurality he has e r received. If (here was no internal dissension dissen-sion In the Repjbllcan party, Hinman Hin-man probably would win easily, but not all of the Republicans are pleased pleas-ed with the rule of Mr Barnes With their eye6 on the day when they 1 shall measure strength with the state chairman. In an effort to oust him from the state committee, the Insurgents Insur-gents are desirous of preventing him from Installing his speaker in the next aseembly. Insurgents Oppose Barnes. T here seems little doubt that the Insurgent faction will decline to caucus cau-cus with the regular Republicans and will nominate a candidate of their own. Friends of William Sulzer professed profes-sed to see a possibility of his being presiding officer of the assembly.
