Show KILLS WIFE AND ENDSOWN LIFE Salmon, Idaho, March 11. Information Informa-tion has been received here that Joseph Jo-seph Glennon has murdered his wife at Gibbonsville and committed suicide sui-cide by cutting his throat. According Accord-ing to the report, Mrs. Glennon was sitting at the dining table when Glennon Glen-non came up behind and brained Iior with the iron stand of a shoe last. He dragged the body Into the front room, where it was found a few minutes min-utes later by a daughter on her return re-turn from school. Tho child found her father in the bedroom covered with blood from a gash in his throat. She Immediately Immedi-ately ran to the home of a neighbor, who returned with her to tho Glennon Glen-non home and found Glennon behind the bedroom door. Glennon died about three hours later. Evidence introduced at the coroner's coro-ner's inquest indicated that Glennon, aftor killing his wife, attempted suicide sui-cide with a razor, while standing In front of a mirror. After severing his windpipe the razor broke. He then tried a butcher knife, a bread knife, a pocket knife, -an old case knife, and finally tried to use an automatic gun. Glennon and. his wife are survived by four sons and a daughter. Three of tho sons are young men, the daugh-I daugh-I ter is about 15 years of age, and the youugest son is 9. According to roports, for some time past Glennon has abused his family and had served a two-year term in the j Idaho penitentiary for threatening to kill racmberB of the family. He was released about a year ago and his family received him, though neighbors have freely predicted that he might carry out his threat. |
