Show PARDON OF O'NIEL DENIED BY BOARD Boise, Idaho, March 11. The state board of pardons today by unanimous action denied the application of B. F. ("Barney") O'NIel, tho convicted president of the defunct State Bank of Commerce of Wallace, for a full and complete pardon, taking tho stand that in justice to the public at large and to O'NIel himself ho bo not lib-crated lib-crated from the penitentiary. He is serving a term of from two to ten years for falsifying the reports of the bank to the examiner, He has served five months. The pardon board is composed of Governor Haines and Attorney General Peterson, and Secretary of State GIfford. That O'Niel expected thc board's action, and had made up his mind to it, is evident from tho fact that when informed late today of the denial he took the nows without comment and had nothing to say for publication. He is employed at the penitentiary as are other convicts and his work Is that of" a janitor. |
