Show in MUM OF THE STATE LEAGUE Salt Lake. March 12. Robert T. Thurber, cashier of the Commercial Bank of Spanish Fork, was selected secretary of the Utah Development league last evening by a special committee com-mittee of the league's governing board. The committee met at ehe Commercial club, the official headquarters head-quarters of the 'league. Several names were proposed for the secretaryship. secre-taryship. Mr. Thurber will take charge of affairs of the development league at offices in tho Commercial club March 20. Meanwhile ho will resign as cashier of the Spanish Fork banlc. His early duties- will be directed to-ward to-ward creating statewide interest in the clean town contest and the new-resource new-resource survey to be conducted under un-der the direction of the league and state authorities. Born at Taylor's ranch, Juab, county, coun-ty, thirty-six years ago, Mr. Thurber became familiar with farm develop ment during early boyhood. He moved mov-ed to Richfield with his parents and settled in Spanish Fork ten years ago,. With the organization of tho Commercial bank of Spanish Fork In 1905 he became its bookkeeper and five years ago was chosen cashier, succeeding A. B. Rockhill. Mr. Thurber has served as president presi-dent of the Utah County Development IHj league and secretary of the Spanish iJ Fork Commercial club. ill! |
