WITH WASHINGTON Chicago, Jan. 8 Walter Johnson, the Washington pitcher, bas refused an offer of a salary of $30,000 for three years and a bonus of $10,000, made by Joe Tinker, manager of , the Chicago Federal league team, Tinker announced today. Johnson said he "was sorry, but he had already s'gncd with WashlngtCn and would not jump his contract." A similar offer was made Joe Wood, the Boston American pitcher, .but he also declined to play as he had already signed with his team.
