Show ECHO OF IE LOPEZ CASE III BBM Provo, April G. Chairman O. W. Carlson and A. H. Crabbc of the Salt Lake county commissioners, Countv Attorney I. E. Willey, Sheriff Andrew Smith, Jr.. and Deputy Sheriff San-ford San-ford Hedges were hero from SaJt Lake today to meet with the Utah county commlslsoners for the purpose pur-pose of adjusting claims for expenses expen-ses in connection with the Lopez hunt last winter. Also in the party were State Auditor Audi-tor Lincoln G. Kelly, John K: Hardy secretary to Governor Spry, and WI1-lard WI1-lard Snow, road supervisor of Salt Lake county. Chafrman Carlson stated at the meeting with the Utah county hoard that, as some of the crimes were committed com-mitted In Utah county, three men being be-ing killed In this county, the Salt Lake commissioners felt It was only just that Utah county should bear about one-third of the expense, the total of which would be about $25,000. In reply, Commissioner B. X. Chris-tensen Chris-tensen of Utah county stated that he could not see why Utah county should pay any expenses not Incurred by Utah county officers. He added that the expenses which Utah county had authorized had been or would he paid by Utah county (Utah county has paid about $500 on bills presented to the county by men employed, as expenses ex-penses Incurred by authority of Utah county officers). Commissioner Chrls-tensen Chrls-tensen stated further that Utah coun ty had nothing to do with regulating the expenses incurred and that he was not in favor of conducting the hunt In such an extravagant manner as that in which it had been conducted. conduct-ed. Attorney Wlllcy suggested that the Utah county board and the Salt Lake county board each selected a member mem-ber and have these two members meet with the sheriffs of the two counties and talk the matter over, examine bills, etc., and then report to their respective hoards. County Attorney Grant C. Bagley of Utah county spoke in favor of the suggestion; he did not approve of lumping the bills and having Utah county pay a proportion of the amount. B. N. Christensen was appointed as the commissioner of Utah county, who with County Attorney Grant C. Bagley and Sheriff Henry East, will represent Utah county at the proposed conference, which will be held at 31 o'clock Thursday, April, 16, in this city. Commissioner A. " H. Crabbo, Attorney 1. E.
