Show IDENTIFIED AS A SALT LAKE FORGER Detective George Wardlaw Is in receipt of a letter and photograph from Salt Lako which proves beyond a doubt that the man. giving his name a6 J. Marcan, the alleaed forger who , was arrested last Monday following his passing three forged checks, Is C. R. Marks who was released on June 22, after serving a six months sentence on the same charge In Salt Lake The photograph, which was taken in Salt Lake at the beginning 'of is Imprisonment, makes the iden tlflcatlon perfect. According to the letter, Marks or ! Marcan was arrested on January 22 by Detective Bert Saeger and was convicted on the chargo f forgery. It will be remembered that the al-i al-i leged forger used the signature of j C. A. Nelson on the checks he drew. But for the suspicions aroused by the young lady cashier at Wrights, where one of the checks for 2r was cashed, Marcan probably would have escaped, because he was on hLs way to the depot when the arrest was made. |
