They made their home homo in Eng Eng- England England England land for about 25 years after they the were Vere married During this time lime nine were born to them In III April 1863 they decided to sail for America They had become Interested In Mormonism and had joined the Church of oC Jesus Christ o oC Latter- Latter day dy Saints They were baptized Into the tho church by Elder Jacob Jacot Gates Thus after bidding good good- goodbye goodby goodbye bye by to their relatives and friends they left leCt their native land to come cometo to America and Zion They sailed on the ship Shena- Shena shore It was a slow voyage oage tak tak- taking taking ing eight weeks and three days to the trip An Interesting In Incident In- In incident cldE nt took place just before they landed They had sailed some dis dis- distance tance tl to the north and in doing doln so sa they the sighted an Iceberg They landed at Castle Gardens N.
