As a soldier himself, Deroulede was qualified to write of military affairs In the true spirit ot the tamp. At the very outbreak ot the war with Prussia he and his brother enlisted as privates In on Infantry regiment They fought In the terrible battle ot Sedan, on September Sep-tember 1, 1870, when Paul Deroulede distinguished himself by saving his brother's life.
