machinists GIVE ROYAL entertainment AT the international association of machinists ts of ogden owned academy last evening and did not even stop at that but owned the biggest halt of the city shortly after 9 last evening couples commenced to arrive at the academy and at 1030 there wore exactly three hundred and thirty eight couples on the floor all lovers of dancing were machinists their wives and sweethearts together with all of the railroad raili oad employees who were not detained at their work and many of the ogden business people were also present the dancing continued until 2 when the guests departed declaring that of all royal entertainers the machinists were first during the evening royal anoy punch with waters was served by the brown ice cream factory and played no little part in the merriment of the guests those responsible for the excellent showing made were as follows committee on arrangements george W coo william J rowse W S willas door committee frank Wels gerber C 1 kelly I 1 tf reception committee E hope M J karney J parry floor committee H wise A L reynolds J T read C huss S II 11 turner it was noticed by the observing reporter that the committee on arrangement had nothing left undone which would add to the pleasure of the evening that the door committee saw to it that no one entered without the proper pass word or a good excuse that the reception committee attended 10 their extensive duties with that grace and easiness which comes from licurs liours ol 01 quiet study that the floor committee had no favorites and that it any played tho part of spectators it was either because they could not or did not care to dance in closing it might be stated that when the committee announced that this would be one of the grandest successes ever attempted by the machinists it was expressing it verv lightly and it was plain 10 be seen that the nut split i never do things by halves
