Show PLEASURE LAKE TOO DEEP " " " There have been many drownings at Lagoon and the fatality of yesterday prompts the question: Why should the artificial lake at Lugoon, oupn which ho man ' incapable of swimming or of rowing n boat are allowed to risk their lives, be more thnn three or four feet deep? - Three feet of water would 'be dcejj enough for all purposes and make impossible such distressing accident as that of Sunday. Another suggestion; The scenic railway at the resort has cot more than one life. Many people enter the amusement cars wholly unconscious of the fact that tlmre is n great element of danger in the irregular motion and rapid descent of the ears. Attendants take it for granted that those entering the cars know they must hold on and guard against tho sudden lurching or fall, but not one in a dozen is aware of the chance to be taken, and that accounts for the broken heads. No amusement placo should have dangerous attractions without with-out properly safeguarding the public. |
