Blossom announced yesterday that the bids which were received Tuesday for a quantity of asphalt paving In the city show on partial tabulation that tho figures submitted range from $1.50 to $3 a front foot less than the price figured on in his original estimate for the work, which was based on the average prico of last year. DAMAGE SUIT FILED. Salt Lake, July 4. Suit was filed yesterday In the Third district court by Leonard Cass, by his guardian, ad litem, Minnie Cass, against Clarence Purdue, the Purdue Automobile company com-pany and Benjamin W. Goodin, for the collection of $5,000 damages from each for an accident which befell him on November 9, 1911. Young Cass was a student at tho Fremont Fre-mont school and was struck by an automobile driven by Goodin. The machine belonged to the Purdue Automobile Au-tomobile company. COURT DISSOLVES LOVELESS MARRIAGE Salt Lake July 4. Judge T. D. Lewis in the Third district court yesterday yes-terday granted an Interlocutory decree de-cree of divorce to Ida Gordon from Morris Gordon, after listening to testimony for almost tho entire day. "I have never loved him. I married him because my parents wished me to. I have respected him but I have never loved him," said Mrs. Gordon in partial explanation of why she wished a divorce. Gordon had filed an answer to her complaint and contested the case. His attorney alleged that tho reason for the contest "was another man" whom the wife wished to marry Mrs. Gordon made emphatic denial of the "other man." claiming that he was a friend of both she and her husband hus-band and that she had never been in company with him except at such times as her husband was present. oo |
