Show COTTON PLANTERS HELP GOVERNMENT Washington, July 4. That the cotton cot-ton planters of the south are anxious anx-ious to co-operate with the department depart-ment of agriculture in the efforts of the government to Introduce better methods of handling and marketing cotton is tho report brought to Secretary Sec-retary "Wilson by Charles J. Brand and A. "W. Sherman, who have just, returned from nn extended rocon-nalsance rocon-nalsance trip through the south and southwest. "Tho great weakness of the cotton growing Interests," said Mr. Brand, "Is their lack of organization in units of sufllclent size to enable them to furnish even running bales in commercial com-mercial lines, it is hoped to overcome over-come this difficulty through the organization or-ganization of cotton growers' associations, asso-ciations, all of whose members will grow a uniform variety of cotton which investigations of the department depart-ment have shown best adapted to their condition. Tho department contemplates con-templates actual demonstrations in handling and marketing in the most direct manner practicable.
