Show co- TWO THOUSAND AT CANYON PICNIC Nearly two thousand persons attended at-tended "the Ogden stake picnic at tho Hermitage yesterday afternoon and evening and enjoyod the program of sprots, dancing and music. Tho stake outing Is an annual affair, but according accord-ing to many who attended tho gathering gather-ing of yesterday eclipsed anw previous previ-ous picnic which the stake has held. The afternoon was given over to a program of athletic contests, In whlen there were manv contestants, and to a dance In the rustic ballroom by the I children. Later In the afternoon, l when the shades of evening were falling, fall-ing, tho picnickers enjoyed a fino spread of good things to eat While thl3 feast was not held at o.le common com-mon board, many old friends and acquaintances ac-quaintances were grouped together at different tables The picnickers had brought with them soveral heavily laden baskets of viands, and there was a bountirul supply of food for evcrvbodv. Some generous-hearted peop'le In Ogden valley donated flft gallons of buttermilk to the picnickers and this was served during tho dinner. din-ner. There was also a large can of cream from tho same valley that was presented by the valley people. While the entire affair was a most pleasant success In every way it was given without any csponBe to thu stake.
