Show oo ALCOHOL CLUB HAS BEEN FORMED The problem of the high cost of "boozing" In Ogden is being solved by a few individuals bnded under the name of the Alcohol club. This club Is not known to many outsiders, but word has been learned of Its operations. opera-tions. The members are not those faored few wio can go Into a bar at any time and afford to pay fifteen cents for every drink, but are those for whom fifteen or twenty cents must serve for a whole day to supply them with drinks. At this time there are about thirty members. Each member pays ten cents a dny to the treasurer. Tho treasurer In turn hands over the money mon-ey to the official buyer who purchases pur-chases tho wot goods from tho place I where the best bargain can bo had. The present price' of liquor is three dollars a gallon, so the members, contributing ten cents each, pay in enough to buy a gallon of tho spirits. spir-its. The "dopo" is handed over to the official "mixer " He dilutes the gallon gal-lon with an equal volume of water, making a mixture which Is plenty strong enough for the needs of the members The two gallons are equally equal-ly divided, each member receiving about one-half pint with as much "kick" as they could desire. A member may miss paying his dime for two days and still enjoy tho club benefits, but on the third day he must "come across" with thirty cents or he Is expelled. nn |
