Show MINING NEWSl SHIPS OUT BELMONT BULLION BY TOMS. What is believed to be the greatest shipment of silver-gold bullion ever made from Touopah was sent out Thursday morning by the Tonopah Belmont Development company and amounted to sixty-eight bars, which weighed from 1,550 to 2,000 ounces, troy, each, and having a total weight of 11S.372 ounces, equlalent to 4 tons 120 pounds avoirdupois and valued at about $90,000, says the Tonopah Miner. Min-er. This was the second clean-up at the new mill, the first having been made on the twenty-third of August and produced twenty bars of bullion Stacked in the refinery at the big mill tho bars made a splendid show and several photographs were taken. Tho bullion was consigned through Wells-Fargo & Co to Selby & Co. of San FranclscD. for refining and separating sepa-rating the gold and silver, which is purchased by the Anglo-American bank of that city. In addition to the bullion two cars of concentrates have also been shipped. There Is every indication that she Tonopah Belmont mine will have a record production for the month of September, as tho mill Is now treating treat-ing daily 500 tons -of ore averaging about $20 to $21 a ton and making a rocovery of over 96 por cent of the assay values, indicating that the total gross output for September will amount to about $300,000. Tho report from the mine- shows that the property is developing in a most satisfactory manner, especially on tho lowest level, where tho vein Is of great width and carries excellent values. The ore In tho Shaft vein is also maintaining a very excellent grade. NORTH STAR STILL SHOWS GOOD VALUES. The North Star company continues to follow the new vein of ore on the 850-foot level to the southwest, over twenty-five foot having been driven to date, and the ore is maintaining its Integrity in every way. The richer streak of the vein averages two feet in width and values run from $50 to $160 or better per ton. The management manage-ment also Is raising on the ore and all tho good rock taken out In this work is being sot to one side for shipment at the earliest possible hour. GOLD CHAIN POSTED DIVIDEND YESTERDAY. Provo, Sept. 11. The directors of the Gold Chain company yesterday declared de-clared a dividend of 2 cents a share, which is payable on September 25, tho books closing on September 20. The general manager reported at the meoting that the mine was in first-class first-class condition and that forty-two cars of good grade ore were shipped during tho month of August. |
