Show REFUGEES WILL BE SENT TO HOMES El Paso, Tex , Aug 14 Women and M children refugees from the Mormon H colonies in Mexico will bo sent back H to Utah to make their homes until H the revolution is settled and the con- tU dilions have resumed the normal in M the looted and rebel ridden district H of northwestern Mexico. This was H practically agreed upon at the con- Jm ferenco which the officials of tho 11 church, under orders of Apostle A. H W. Ivlns, held in the headquarters H here yesterday afternoon. H It was decided that Mexico was no jH place for tho women and children H for six months or more and that H rather than leave thom in the make- H bhift tents which have been erected M hero to accommodate their temporary M needs, the refugees would be sent H back to their original homes in Utah H until everything was settled In the M colonics. H It Is probable that a sufficient M number of tho young men will return M to the colonics at once to police them H and prevent further looting by the H roving bands of rebels and the native H residents of the colonies who have jH folowed the soldiers on their trip fl from Chihuahua The men of Chi- M huahua have decided to remain. M Those In Colonia Juarez who came on M have decided to return and protect M their property, and it Is being consid- M ered advisable to send a sufficient M number of men back to each of the H colonies to protect their property un- H til the entire band comes back. H As soon as the women and cull- H dren are safely on their way to Utah M it is. probable that the majority of tho M men will return, as they arc restless M here, and with nothing to do they M will soon tire of their enforced ab- M sencc from their homes. H John Allen, one of the Colonia M Dublan settlera, has lost his mind M as tho result of tho worry Incident jH to his being forced to leave his h&me M and go to the United States He es- M caped from the party of Mormons H who were en routo to Hachlta and H roturned to his home on foot without H shoes or hat. He is now being carod H for by the nutives who wore former- H ly employed by the Mormons and H who are falthfuly caring for their jH gardens and stock while their em- JM ployers are away. H |
