Show WHITE SLAVER CAUGHT BY POLICE Harry Johnson, the nero, who was, arrested several weoks ago because of his relations with a white woman, Eva Parsons, was captured this morning after a chase of several blocks through the streets of the lower part of the town. Johnson escaped from tho chain gang about three wcoks ago, making tho second time since he was sentenced sen-tenced two months ago. It was thought that ho had left th0 country. The woman was in the place but the negro could not be seen. Various circumstances, however, lead the police po-lice to believe that he waH in the houBe. so whllo Detective Wardlaw engaged the woman In conversation, Swanson began to examine the different dif-ferent rooms. Ho discovered the negro, ne-gro, and. after calling Wardlaw, both enterod the room to make tho arrest The negro was too quick, for the officers had no sooner ontered the room than he Jumped through the window, ripping a leg from his trousers trous-ers as ho went through. Running up tho streot, the fellow turned and dashed through lanes, and climbed over fences. Patrolman Swanson fired two Bhots at him but that did not lessen his speed. Finally the negro was cornered by the aid of a rnllk wagon driver and was brought to the police station with an officer holding on to each wrist Johnson Ib considered a dengerous man. He was arrested two months ago for the first time and was given u sentence of ninetydays for carrying carry-ing concealed weapons, although the mi. u ,.
