TOLSTOI CIRCLE. The first meeting of the Tolstoi Circle thla year was hel'l last Tuesday Tues-day at tho homo of the president, Mrs. C. H. Gosling. The afternoon was devoted de-voted to the outlining of the year's work and tho members are anticipating anticipat-ing much good to bo derived from tho year's study After adjournment the ladies were given a real pleasure when Mrs. Gosling Gosl-ing exhibited a. fine collection of nan 1-made 1-made laces, embroideries, silks and linens, gathered from all parts of the Old World during her recent trip. The collection was admired by all and proved an interesting feature together to-gether with Mrs. Gosling's explanations explana-tions and descriptions The serving of a tempting menu made a delightful closing to the first meeting of Tolstoi year. Weber Camp No. 74, Woodmen of the World, entertained last evening at a dancing party in the now Colonial Colo-nial hall, About 250 persons pnjoved the delightful program of twentw-two dances, to the music of Salter's seven-niece orchestra The comfort of tho guests was looked after by capable committeemen and Sumner's delicious punch sorved with salted peanuts was an added feature that was much enjoyed The committee in chargo were Wm Mul ler, Brlgham Shupe, Alvin Mortensen and Thomas Meyer. Announcement was made of a similar simi-lar party to "be given December 1G1 by the same lodge ENTERTAINS OUTING PARTY. At the homo of his parents, 17n Twenty-fifth street, last evening, H H. Spencer, Jr., entertained the members mem-bers of an outing party which spent several weeks on a ranch near Spen-cor, Spen-cor, Ida., last Bummer The evening was pleasantly spent in playing five hundred and dainty refreshments were eerved. On Wednesday evening thoro was a merry gathering of friends, relatives and neighbors assembled in Glasgow addition to witness the marriage of Mr. Chauncey M. Dana and Miss Hazel M Davidson. The bridegroom is tho son of Mr. and Mrs Chauncpy Dana, the popular fruit rals i or of Seventeenth street, and the bride is the accomplished daughter of Mr. Davidson, wJio is In the employ of tho Harrlman system. After the ceremony was over the ' ' wedding supper was scrved the tables and dining room being beautifully decorated dec-orated for the occasion. A pleasant home wedding at which one hundred guests wore entortaincd, occurred Wednesday, October IS, at -1 p m., at the Schmala homo In Uintah, when Rev. W. W. Floetwood united Anna G. Schmalz and George W Murphy, Mur-phy, Jr., in tho sacred bonds of mat-rlmony, mat-rlmony, using the beautiful ring cere mony of the Episcopal church. The home was beautifully decorated with roses, dahlias and autumn foil-ago, foil-ago, making a delightful setting for tho happy wedding party and tho merry gathering of friends, many of whom came from the surrounding towns and Ogden to Join iu celebrating the hnppy union of tho popular young couple The brido was becomingly gowned In cream grenadine over silk and carried car-ried a shower bouquet of bride's roses, and tho groom was in fulljeen-ing fulljeen-ing dress. W. C. Schmalz, brothor of the brido, accompanied the groom as best man and Mrs. E. W.
