Show SURVEYORS FIND COAL. Price, Oct. 20. The party of geolo gleal surveyors, who have been work Ing in Emory county all summer, have finished their work for tho season. sea-son. The party found unmistakable evidences of large deposits of coal in the vicinity of tho town of Emery. y,T, n --. At Rochester, nine miles north of Emery, thoy first found evidence of 00 1 in commercial quantities. They followed tho course of the deposit In a southwesterly direction to Ivy creek, six miles south of Emery, which point they reached the day thoy quit work. The 8ureyors worked a Btrip of territory flvo miles in width. The coal is of the MancoB formation and Is of excellent quality. Tho party startoil work early this spring at Mounds and worked southwest. |
