Show SURPRISE PARTY. Mrs. W H. Wheelwright was given a delightful surprlso in honor of her birthday anniversary whon a goodly number of her friends arrived to offer warm congratulations and appropriate appropri-ate birthday remembrances An afternoon aft-ernoon of pleasant social diversion, music and games, was completed by the serving of a delicious five-o'clock luncheon. The perfectly laid dining table was made still more attractive by the artistic plncing of cut flowers and the loads ofi good things to eat. Covers woro laid for Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Wheelwright, Mrs. A Peterson, Mrs. M Johansen of Huntsville, Mrs. Mary Nelson. Mrs, S. Ecland, Mrs. Youngstrom. Mrs. Larsen. Mrs. Christiansen. Chris-tiansen. Mrs Burton, Mrs Jncobsen, Mrs. James. MIsb Gladvs Rich charmlnglv entertained enter-tained last Saturday afternoon, with the graduating class of Sacred Heart academy as her guests Aftor seeing the Instructlvo portrayal por-trayal of Dante's Inferno the party repaired re-paired to Miss Rich's beautiful home, on Washington avenue, where the remaining re-maining portion of the afternoon was spent In the enjoyment of games and music, a -dainty luncheon being served, by tho Misses Winnifred Kirchoff and Leila Rich. A feature of the afternoon was tho miniature, beautifully decorated Christmas tree, which boro a dainty hand-mado gift for each. In the parlors, dining room and library li-brary tho class colors, red nnd green woro effectively carried out with chiffon. chif-fon. Incande?cent lights and festoons of ribbon and holly. CHILD CULTURE CLUB. Tho regular meeting of tho Child Culture club was held December 19 at tho home of Mrs C H. Gosling After the regular business w-as attended at-tended to an excellent program was enjoved by all present, consisting of a rending by Mrs Glen, followed by beautiful musical selections by Mrs Annie Wrlcht nnd daughters. Mrs Frances Kohn. Mr Hughes and Miss Lillian Beck also Tendered some beautiful beau-tiful numbers. Dainty refreshments woro served by the hostess, assisted by her niece and Miss Beck. VOIGHT-HERRICK At the Baptist Mause last evening at 8:30 occurred the marriage of Or-vlllo Or-vlllo W. Volght. of Salt Lake City to Viola E. Horrlck, daughter of C. L. Herrick of Ogden. The Impressive ring ceremony was used. Mr. and Mrs. Volght will remain In tho cjty for some time. The brido Is well known, having Hvod In the city for some time, and beRt wishes are extended them from their clrclo of friends. Mrs. Lorln Farr and granddaughter, Miss Ruby Wotherspoon, left Ogden on the Overland LImltod for San Diego, California, Wednesday oven-lug, oven-lug, to spend the winter with her daughter Mrs. Gcorgo W Driver. |
