Show 1 Salt Lake, Dec. 23. "The country ! on the vcrgo of a general business revival," said former Senator Thomas Koarns, who returned yesterday from a .01 mights visit to the money centers cen-ters of tho east. "Dosplte the fact that the coming ear Is one In which a presidential election w ill be held, confidence in tho business outlook Is better than at any time in tho last fne years, money is more plentiful and Immense oiders aie pouring In from all sections of the country. "This revival has occurred within the last few weoVs," continuod Senator Sen-ator Kearns, "In fact, It has only Just begun to spread out from New York and has not as yet piogresscd as far as Chicago I estlmato that within sixty, or, at most, ninety days, the wave -w III reach this section, and will affect most favorably all kinds of business "There Ig not tho slightest doubt that this business levlval prevails in New York, and is surely on its way west ard ' Senator Kearns marvels at the great change In the financial atmosphere of tho east slnco last summer. "Investors "Inves-tors were extremely skeptical and money was verj backward last July," he sajs, 'while now plenty of money is aallablo for all purposes Where tho eastern financial leaders would usually offer about half of any sum caled for a fow months ago, their usual offer at present Is for more than the amount solicited. "Orders arc piling into the eastern markets at a tremendous rate, and the most liberal advances are being made on contracts These orders and advances ad-vances are so far In excess of those of any recent year, that the feeling of confidence In business conditions amounts to a conviction and oven tho most conservative of bankers and Investors In-vestors have loosened their purBe strjngs and tho Jmpiovement Is considered con-sidered permanent." Senator Koarns was careful to impress im-press on his hearer that his statements state-ments should not be accepted as mere "boost" talk, noi did he want to bo understood as predicting a "boom." His observation and inquiries while in the east have convinced him that business Is experiencing a marked roival over conditions which havo pievalled for the last flvo years, and he expects all portions of the country to take part in this improvement. |
